Mike has been Sunrise Mayor since 2010, and his energy and passion for the mission of helping the community has never failed Sunrise. His work on behalf of all our schools has led him to be endorsed by the Broward Teachers’ Union and the Broward Principals And Assistant Principals’ Association. His passion for public safety helped save the full-time School Resource Officer program in Sunrise, and he led the effort to improve school and public safety after the tragedy at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. Mike has also been a friend to small businesses by pushing to create a true customer service model where the City helps get businesses open on time as they pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. His commitment to improve our park systems and expand bike lanes has helped transform parks throughout the entire City. Most importantly, Mike believes in being a responsive public servant serving all of Sunrise. There can never be an east or west Sunrise or a north or south Sunrise. There must be a ONE SUNRISE making sure all benefit from the growth, improvements and neighborly feel of a small town.
