We are so fortuante to have a diverse community, filled with unique talents and those who inspire joy through their eyes, smile, words and touch.
Last Saturday, I met a young man at Earth Day, who makes the most beautiful flower arrangements from recycled materials. I was so moved by his spirit and soul. I bought one of his biggest baskets. His name is Gabriel.
On Tuesday, I was honored to be invited to have Gabe give me a tour of the JAFCO Ability Center. This is a very special place for families of those with children who have different abilities -- and for some families who have a challenging time with the 24/7 life of caring for a child with special behavioral and emotional needs.
Gabe works there a few days a week in the JAFCO store. Gabe led the tour with staff, taking me throughout the building and Respite Center. It was a magical tour where he brought the building to life. I brought with me the basket of flowers I bought at Earth Day... and he signed the basket for me.
We must celebrate the beautiful souls in our community, who enrich our lives and the world around us with their unique talents and grace. Gabe is one of those unique people who inspire us to find joy in moments so precious. Thanks Gabe for brightening our world and for being so talented!
