Celebrating Black Business Month: Honoring the Contributions of Black-Owned Businesses in Sunrise

Today, there are more than 3.2 million Black-owned businesses across the United States, creating significant economic impacts through job creation and revenue generation. These businesses are growing in number every year, representing an increasingly important part of our nation's economic landscape.

This month, I invite you to join me in recognizing "Black Business Month"—a national celebration now in its 20th year—and to honor the vital role that Black-owned businesses play in our country and right here in the City of Sunrise.

Black entrepreneurs embody the spirit of perseverance, working tirelessly to overcome the unique challenges that come with small business ownership. They pursue their entrepreneurial dreams with the hope of building wealth for their families and securing a brighter future for generations to come.

In Sunrise, we are fortunate to have a thriving community of Black-owned businesses, each contributing to the rich tapestry of our local economy. These businesses are more than just places to shop or services to hire; they are symbols of resilience, creativity, and the determination to succeed against all odds.

This month, let’s come together to recognize, celebrate, and support the Black-owned businesses in our community. Their perseverance and accomplishments serve as an inspiration to all who aspire to be their own boss and to make a lasting impact on their communities.

As Mayor of Sunrise, I am deeply committed to supporting small businesses and the entrepreneurial dreams of all our residents. I have seen firsthand the incredible contributions that minority-owned businesses make to our city, and I will continue to advocate for their success. My commitment to fostering a thriving, inclusive economy remains strong, and I will keep fighting for the dreams and aspirations of our Black-owned businesses and all entrepreneurs in our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and let’s take this opportunity to uplift and empower the Black-owned businesses that are an integral part of our city’s success.
